Assault on Black Reach is the new Warhammer 40k starter set which pits the Space Marines against the Ork army in an epic 41st century battle.

If you’re new to Warhammer 40k, the Assault on Black Reach starter set is a great way to get started in the hobby for a couple of reasons.

First, it gives you a good start into the world of Warhammer 40k and lays a solid foundation for not only assembling and painting your models, but also teaches you the rules of game play.  This starter set allows you to dive into the hobby on a relatively small budget to see if you enjoy it and want to go further.

My Warhammer 40k Journey

I was first introduced to the Warhammer universe 5 years ago, originally starting out with the Warhammer Fantasy starter set. Then I eventually decided to move into the Warhammer 40k universe, but instead of getting a starter set for Warhammer 40,000 I ended up just buying some random army pieces to paint because I really loved the painting aspect of the hobby. This was a lot of fun, but it didn’t really teach me the basics and fundamentals of actually playing the game of Warhammer 40k.

Then, as my wife and I moved to our new house I packed up my WH40k stuff into some boxes and they’ve been sitting around for years now as I haven’t had a lot of time to get back into the hobby after the move, until now.

When I decided to get back into the Warhammer 40k hobby, this time I wanted to start out right so I ended up getting the Assault on Black Reach starter set box instead of just buying random units from different armies just because they looked cool. I want to use the set to learn how to play Warhammer 40k and as a standby set of armies to have on hand in case friends come over and want to play a game.
