HCG Diet Program – Day 2
Today is Day 2 of my HCG Diet Program.
My first day on the program wasn’t too difficult.
Taking the drops themselves is pretty easy. You just do 5 drops under the tongue and let them absorb for a few minutes. They don’t taste like anything, except a small hint of alcohol taste due to the alcohol content of the Homeopathic HCG solution.
Homeopathic HCG Diet
As I wrote about in yesterday’s post, I am using Dr. Theresa Dale’s HCG program for my weight loss.
In addition to the HCG drops, Dr. Dale has also created a custom HCG diet program that is different from the standard Dr. Simeon’s Diet that was created over 50 years ago.
One of the differences is that Dr. Dale’s diet is about 900 calories per day, versus the 500 calories that the original Dr. Simeon’s Diet calls for.
The reason for this is because Dr. Dale believes that the 900 calorie diet is much more healthier and support proper brain function while doing the program.
Secondly the other major difference between Dr. Dale’s diet and Dr. Simeon’s original diet ( as well as almost all the other HCG diet clones out there) is that Dr. Dale’s program does NOT include any caffeine in it.
There are two reasons for this.
Firstly, and most importantly, caffeine works against Homeopathic remedies.
Meaning, if you take any kind of Homeopathic remedy – such as Homeopathic HCG drops – and then drink coffee, or tea or eat chocolate or any other type of food or drink containing caffeine, you are basically wasting your time and money as the caffeine is rendering the homeopathic remedy useless.
This is one of the biggest problems with most of the people selling Homeopathic HCG online who are not really qualified to be doing so. They don’t realize that caffeine works against Homeopathic remedies and so they sell the Homeopathic HCG drops with the original Dr. Simeon’s diet which is full of caffeine.
Dr. Simeon’s original HCG diet was NOT created with Homeopathic HCG in mind. Dr. Simeon’s was using HCG injections which are not affected by caffeine.
So if you’re using Homeopathic HCG of any kind, do NOT use the original Dr. Simeon’s diet otherwise you’re wasting your money as the Homeopathic HCG isn’t doing anything for you.
Secondly, the other reason Dr. Dale recommends a diet without the huge amounts of caffeine that Dr. Simeon’s originally included in his diet is because caffeine in such doses will dehydrate you, and overload your adrenals.
Yes you will lose weight by drinking so much caffeine, but any weight loss that comes from caffeine is water weight loss, not fat loss. You do not want to be dehydrating yourself while losing weight.
After Day 1
Day 1 was a bit tough as I had to get all my food organized and run out to the store to pickup some food supplies I was short on.
The food listed on Dr. Dale’s diet was really tasty, so that was a plus. It’s not one of those diets where all you eat is gross foods that you hate. It’s pretty much just healthy, delicious foods, but in smaller quantities and without the massive carb overload of most processed foods.
For lunch I had an egg omelette, and for dinner I had some baked wild salmon, half a baked potato and brocollini. It all tasted really good.
They only difficult part about the diet so far is that last night around 6pm or so I developed a mild headache which got progressively worse throughout the night.
I didn’t take anything for it as I know exactly what it was from.
I’ve had the exact same thing happen on many other diets I’ve been on in the past on the first day. Basically what it is, is withdrawl symptoms from simple carbs, sugar and caffeine.
I had the same thing happen on Day 1 of the Bernstein diet I went on, the Alkalarian diet, and the Isagenix Cleanse I went on. It’s a headache which usually develops on Day 1 and the best remedy I found for it is to just go to sleep early, which is exactly what I did.
I went to bed around 10pm, which is early for me, and woke up feeling better.
I still had a mild headache today, but nothing compared to yesterday. The good news is that this “withdrawl” from sugar and caffeine only lasts like 1-2 days for me at the most and after that it’s smooth sailing.
I know it’s only been one day since I started, but I did check my weight this morning and I have already lost 2.0lbs compared to yesterday morning.
