Crystal clear sound can make a huge difference in the perceived quality of a video.  That’s why I’ve been desperately trying to find a good quality microphone solution for my videos.

I wanted to find a good quality microphone that would work with my Kodak Zi8 as well as my Sony FX1 cameras and that was wireless.

After a lot of research and based on a recommendation from Andy Jenkins (Video Boss), I ended up buying the Sennheiser EW112-p G3 Wireless Microphone System.

In this video I do an unboxing and a quick test of the setup.

Please note that my settings during the test were totally screwed up, so I had to adjust the gain manually in my editing software so the sound you hear at the end of the video is NOT representative of the quality of this microphone.  It actually sounds way better than that.

I have since played with it for about 3 hours testing and tweaking all different settings both on the microphone system and on my cameras to capture the best sound possible.  I think I have the settings pretty much figured out, but you won’t hear them until the next video.

So the sound test in this video is just an approximation.
