P90X – Day 23 – Core Synergistics
Today was the second day of “Recovery” week, if you could call it that. What recovery week is all about in the P90X System is basically taking a break from the more hardcore strength training workouts and focusing more on cardio type workouts.
Today was my first time doing the Core Synergistics DVD and it was both really tough and really fun at the same time. The video focuses on all kinds of exercises that target your core muscles, while at the same time giving you a kick-ass cardio workout. I had sweat pouring down my face, and burned over 750 calories in 55 minutes according to my heart rate monitor.
I can’t really say why, but I found this workout really fun too. All the different moves in it are kind of fun to do and Tony Horton blasts through them really quickly so you don’ t really have a chance to get bored of them.
Food wise, I made a Mushroom Scramble and an English Muffin with Mozzarella Cheese and Soy Breakfast Patties. The English Muffin was really good and I polished that off really quick, but the mushroom scramble I couldn’t finish. I think I’m just bored of eating so many eggs lately. Luckily next week we switch to the Phase II diet plan and there are different breakfast options coming up.
For a late lunch / early dinner I made this Chicken Stir-fry. It tasted really good. I especially like adding cashews to my stir-fry’s now. I was really hungry after my workout too so I inhaled this thing.
Here are my nutritional stats for today:
