Are You Stuck?

Are you stuck in some form of dilemma or mind-quarrel not knowing what to do next? Do you feel frustrated, if not depressed not knowing what you want to do next? Sometimes the best cure is to just go out there and do a lot of activity.

If you’re in a business, and you’re not sure if you want to start cold calling businesses, or work on your marketing, or setup a referral program, or improve your company image, or any number of activities you’re considering, sometimes it’s best to just stop thinking and to get active. Just DO SOMETHING…and lots of it! Just for a short period of time, try getting active again. You’ll either discover what works, or you’ll really quickly discover what doesn’t work!

Looking for the secret to growing your blog? Reading all kinds of different feeds and eBooks and wondering what’s the best strategy and tactic to employ? Why not try just getting really active with something…. Anything! Write 30 Blog posts in one weekend or go and write 100 comments in one day. It doesn’t matter what you do, just do something – some kind of activity. Regardless whether it “works”, you’ll produce some form of outcome.

Sometimes we get way too caught up in trying to mentally and intellectually anal-ize everything before we do ANYTHING and it’s really easy to get frustrated and stuck like that. It’s like analysis-paralysis where you just have no idea what to do next because you’ve analyzed the situation way too much. Sometimes just DOING something frees things up.

In December I was suffering from some serious writers block for blog posts. It was really frustrating. I tried thinking about all kinds of concepts, doing research, reading books, writing, journaling, and nothing worked. I was too much in my head.

So what I did is I started running on my treadmill every day starting January 1st. I got my body active. I went to an event with some inspiring speakers. I started to just get some different activity into my life. It took a few weeks, but things are getting totally unstuck and I feel flow again.

Get active. Go do something. Anything you think might or might not work. Either way, you’ll know whether it does for sure, not just in your head.
